Daniel Polley has been practicing exclusively in the fields of patent, trademark and copyright law since 1990. Mr. Polley is a registered patent attorney with a degree in electrical engineering. In addition to electrical inventions, Mr. Polley has significant experience in preparing, filing and prosecuting patent applications in a wide range of technologies, including software, mechanical, business methods and medical devices. In addition to his patent prosecution practice, Mr. Polley has a substantial trademark practice and significant experience in filing and defending opposition and cancellation proceedings in the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Polley was born in Miami, Florida on May 9, 1964, and is a native to South Florida. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton in 1986. While at FAU, he was a member of Tau Beta Pi. He received his law degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1989. During his legal education at Stetson, he served as an intern in the Consumer Affairs Division of the Attorney General's Office in Tampa, Florida.
Mr. Polley was admitted to practice before the Florida Bar, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Southern District of Florida in 1990. Mr. Polley is also admitted to practice before the Middle District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Mr. Polley is a member of the Business Law Section, and the Entertainment and Sports Law Section of the Florida Bar. Mr. Polley previously served on the Board of Directors for the Florida Atlantic University Alumni Association.
